Utilise waste plastic in high-end jewellery

Jewellery made out of bottle caps

CURA Jewellery is made from 100% recycled HDPE plastic, and gold and Silver/Rhodium plated brass components. The company was born out of a desire to use plastic by-products to create items that are not only beautiful, but also challenge our perceptions on waste and where we place value.

In 2019, volunteers during the International Coastal Cleanup Day collected 1,390,232 bottle caps during one single day.

  • Plastic is processed in an environmentally-friendly way
  • Gives waste plastic a value
  • Can be returned for recycling at end of life
  • Creates an interesting story behind the product

  • Doesn't incentive people to use less plastic
  • Might require a change in supply chain and construction techniques
