Apply for the EarthShot Prize

The EarthShot Prize was launched by British royal Prince William. Prizes will reward progress across all sectors of industry and society, not just technology, and to anyone who is making a substantial development or outstanding contribution to solving our environmental challenges.

Annual global production of plastics has increased twentyfold since the 1960s, reached 322 million tonnes in 2015,



  • Winners can be individuals, teams or collaborations, and could include businesses, cities and governments
  • Long-term project that will run over 10 years
  • Multiple chances to win – 5 winners will be chosen each year


  • Challenges will be set, which will dictate the issue to be tackled

Making a difference

The Earthshot Prize aims to provide at least 50 solutions to the world’s greatest problems by 2030.
