Choose natural foam play mats

Baby playing on biodegradable playmat

Conventional foam baby play mats are made from EVA, polyurethane or PVC foam. All of these plastics are hugely damaging to the environment from production right through to disposing of the play mat at the end of its life cycle. Pure Earth Collection play mats are made from natural rubber foam and sustainably harvested cork.

Vinyl chloride is a synthetic material which is the main ingredient in PVC. It is listed as a Hazardous Air Pollutant by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and affects both humans and mammals.
