Catch microplastics with a bilge filter
Wave international has created a bilge filter system called Wavestream. It comes in four sizes to fit all ranges of marine craft and is fitted after the bilge pump to remove microplastics (and oil and impurities) from the bilge water to ensure that no traces of pollutants are discharged overboard.
